Over the past 22 months, I have used the office of Mayor to the advantage of the non-profits in our community.  Below are just a few of the many organizations that I have worked with to benefit our city and its citizens.

Last November I was honored to be a part of “Hair 4 Hunger” - a fundraiser for the OUR Center.  By offering to shave my head, I was part of a group that helped to raise over $46,000 to help feed our community!

Earlier this year Fox Hill County Club was purchased by Steve Kerr and soon after I facilitated a partnership between the renamed Fox Hill Club and A Woman’s Work, a local non-profit serving women in need in the St. Vrain Valley.  When The Fox Hill Club hosted its Grand Opening, all profits from the sale of rounds of golf were donated to A Woman’s Work - a donation of over $21,000.

As Mayor, I have been an active partner with the Longmont Area Economic Council and have worked hand-in-hand to bring new businesses to Longmont and to keep existing businesses from relocating elsewhere.  I have spent countless hours meeting with representatives from The Fairgrounds Marketplace, Sprouts Farmers Market and City Staff to help reach an agreement to begin development in a way that benefitted everyone involved.  I was also instrumental in negotiations with Pacific Auction to allow them to relocate to a new property on Main Street and keep their 35 year business in Longmont.
